Paper Tigers
One high school’s journey innovating education for students impacted by childhood trauma
2016 | Running Time: 102 minutes | Rating: NR
PAPER TIGERS is set within and around the campus of Lincoln Alternative High School in Walla Walla, Washington. At the core of the film are the questions: “What does it mean to be a trauma-informed school?” and “How do you educate teens whose childhood experiences have left them with a brain and body ill-suited to learn?” Armed with their own cameras, the subjects of PAPER TIGERS offer raw, valuable insights as they tell their own stories. Against the harsh reality of truancy, poor grades, emotional pain and physical violence, answers begin to emerge. PAPER TIGERS premiered at the 2015 Seattle International Film Festival.
