ALWAYS IN SEASON explores the lingering impact of historic racial terrorism and its connection to racial violence today. The film centers on the case of 17-year-old Lennon Lacy, an African American teen who was found hanging from a swing set in rural North Carolina on August 29, 2014. Despite inconsistencies in the case, local officials quickly ruled Lennon’s death a suicide. Claudia, his mother, believes Lennon was lynched and began the fight to find him justice. ALWAYS IN SEASON traces her pursuit, and the intersecting stories from other communities looking for justice and reconciliation. The film premieres at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
