Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
A belief in kindness drove Fred Rogers’ beloved children’s show
2018 | Running Time: 94 minutes | Rating: PG-13
For more than 30 years, Fred Rogers broadcast his beloved television show MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD into homes across America. Alongside his cast of puppets and friends, the soft-spoken minister, puppeteer, writer and producer simply and directly spoke to young children about life’s most complex issues. Though he is largely seen as a children’s television host, his career was based around protecting childhood and using television as a positive force. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville’s WON’T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR? portrays Fred Rogers’ legacy of radical kindness. The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
