In THE LAST ANIMALS, world renowned conflict photographer Kate Brooks turns her lens towards the underreported, sweeping and sobering poaching epidemic in Africa. Brooks introduces the crisis’s contributing factors, pinpointing surprising connections between the illegal wildlife trade, international terrorism, border security and the poaching and trafficking syndicates. In documenting the efforts of conservationists, park rangers and scientists, Brooks clarifies that all is not lost. The film functions as a plea for worldwide attention and action to stop the permanent loss of these animals. THE LAST ANIMALS premiered in the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
