The C Word
Together a neuroscientist and cancer survivor question cancer treatment status quo
2016 | Running Time: 89 minutes | Rating: NR
THE C WORD reveals the forces at play keeping us sick and dares to ask: if up to 70 percent of cancer deaths are preventable, why aren’t we changing how we’re fighting this disease? Interweaving the story of French neuroscientist and cancer revolutionary Dr. David Servan-Schreiber with director Meghan L. O’Hara’s own experience beating cancer, the film chronicles their journeys of discovery, revealing hidden science, the absurdity of the status quo and a cast of characters all invested in changing how we treat cancer. Narrated by Morgan Freeman — who’s also the film’s executive producer — THE C WORD challenges us to take control of our own health. The documentary premiered at the 2015 Hamptons International Film Festival. Director/Producer/Writer: Meghan L. O’Hara; Producers: Lori McCreary, Pascaline Servan-Schreiber; Executive Producer: Diana Barrett, Dan Cogan, Morgan Freeman, Regina K. Scully
