DYING IN VEIN is a deeply personal exploration of opiate and heroin addiction. The film shines a light on the public health epidemic by following the stories of an addict in recovery, a couple trying to get clean, a family grieving the loss of their son and an Emergency Room Physician trying to save one patient at a time. It’s an examination into the contemporary belief in “living life pain free” as well as a look at the negative effects of shame and blame around addiction. The film looks at the impact of socioeconomic class on our broken treatment system. From film festivals to medical centers, DYING IN VEIN has been screened across the country in communities as a catalyst to talk about addiction.
